Prague first. Then the rest of Czechia.
Which river cruise is worth the hour. Whether the Castle ticket needs a guide with it. What a beer spa actually involves, and which day trip earns a whole day out of a short stay.
The days every Prague trip is built around.
The Castle hill, the clock on the Old Town square, the six synagogues of Josefov, an hour on the Vltava, the lanes after dark and the beer that made the country famous.
The Vltava explains Prague faster than any walking tour.
All 104 Prague boat trips →
Charles Bridge from underneath, the Castle floodlit on its ridge, the Kampa weir turning over. Fifty minutes buys the postcard. A dinner boat buys the whole evening.

Fifty minutes, bridge to bridge
Enough river to see why a city was built on this bend, short enough to slot between the Castle and dinner.
The Prague bookings everything else gets compared to.

What a day out in Czechia actually costs.
Every tour on the site sorted by price. The cheap end is not the thin end here — a tower ticket and an hour on the river both sit under thirty dollars.
Tower climbs, the clock, an hour on the river, a pub crawl with the first round included.
The heart of the list: the Castle with a guide, the underground tours, dinner boats, Kutná Hora and Terezín.
Nowhere on earth drinks more beer per head than Czechia.
Pilsner was invented in Plzeň in 1842 and the country never really moved on. A brewery tour at the source, a cellar tasting under the Old Town, or an hour in a tub of the warm stuff.
The best Czech days start with a coach out of Prague.
Sandstone arches on the German border, a chapel furnished with bones at Kutná Hora, the castle Charles IV built to hold the crown jewels, and Český Krumlov folded into a bend of the same river.
Three things you can only do in Czechia.
Castles and old towns run the length of Europe. A bath in warm beer mash, a fallout shelter under a Prague apartment block and a five-course medieval feast belong to this country alone.

The Beer Spa
A wooden tub of warm water, hops, yeast and crushed malt, with a tap of dark lager at your elbow and no glass to refill. The claim is that the B vitamins do your skin good. What is beyond argument is that you spend an hour drinking in a bath, and leave smelling faintly of fresh bread.

The Nuclear Bunker
Czechoslovakia spent forty years behind the Iron Curtain and kept the receipts. These walks start on Wenceslas Square, where the crowds stood in November 1989, and end underground in a Cold War fallout shelter still stocked with gas masks and Geiger counters. Guides who grew up in it do the talking.

The Medieval Feast
Five courses eaten mostly with your hands in a vaulted cellar, jugs of beer and wine that keep coming, fire eaters and sword fights between the plates. It is unapologetically theatre, it has been running for decades, and the hall fills most nights of the year.

Most of this city can be arranged at the hotel desk the same morning. These cannot: the rooms are small, the sittings are fixed, and the good slots go to whoever booked first.
- 01Medieval Dinner with Unlimited DrinksOne sitting a night in a cellar with a fixed number of seats. December goes weeks ahead.
- 02Bernard Beer Spa with Beer and Massage OptionEvery tub is a timed slot booked by the hour, so the evening hours disappear first.
- 03Entry Ticket Classical Concert at the Mirror ChapelChapel and synagogue concerts are seated events in small rooms. There is no standing at the back.
- 04Pilsner Urquell Experience & Beer TastingThe brewery runs guided slots at set times, and the unfiltered cellar tasting is part of the tour, not a walk-in.
Prague weather is a good argument for going underground.
The grey runs from November into March and the drizzle can settle in for a week at a time. The best answers are indoors and older than the forecast: medieval cellars beneath the Old Town, a concert in a mirrored chapel, a museum with the lights down, a brewery with the tanks still working.
